I've recently begun trying other cooking oils besides olive oil. I was surprised to find out that other types of cooking oils also have health benefits. Some of these have been previously demonized by the health food nuts.
What seems to be the common finding is that you must look for non-hydrogenated versions of these oils. Manufacturers are hydrogenizing some cooking oils that were not before. So you need to find a whole food source if you are going to use them on a regular basis.
1. Avocado Oil
2. Coconut Oil
3. Peanut Oil
4. Almond Oil
5. Canola Oil (probably the least expensive of the above, this gets the least amount of press because the media has been so focused on olive oil for a while now.) So if you can't afford any of the trendy cooking oils, good old Canola oil is also healthy.
